Lots of black-tailed skimmers about at the moment.
This one was just in front of the window of the North Hide, munching its way through a juicy hoverfly.
Last September I filmed this common darter on the handrail leading up to the hide.
It was also enjoying an insect.
It was August last year that I filmed this migrant hawker at Radipole.
One dragonfly that we don't see at Radipole is the black darter.
I had to go to Wareham Forest to film this one, in September 2012.
Another species we don't see at Radipole is the keeled skimmer.
This is a male in Wareham Forest, September 2012.
And this is a female.
