Bob Ford's Video Blog

This superb reserve holds lots of butterflies but is best known for the beautiful brown hairstreak.
Today there were several very smart females feeding low down on the brambles.
I've seen them here before but they usually keep their wings closed.
This one frequently opened its wings in the warm sunshine.
The male is less often seen, keeping mostly to the tops of the trees.
