Late November should see the woods full of fungi. Many are good to eat - but many aren't so we'll leave them here for others to see. One that we might take home is the Cep, or Penny Bun. Good to eat and easy to identify. |

Shaggy Ink-caps are also good to eat but won't make the journey home. So much for what we could find in the car park, reaching the depths of the woodland will bring us into the range of some very special species. |
The Earthstar is one of Thorncombe Wood's rarest species; it's very difficult to find but we're here at the right time for it. |
